More Info:

Stage Door Records are pleased to present on the new Stage Door Pop imprint the first time CD release of 'The Singing Nolans', the debut album featuring the iconic pop group The Nolans. Produced by Jim McLean and released on his Nevis Records label in 1972, 'The Singing Nolans' included all 10 members of The Nolan family; mother and father Maureen and Tommy, brothers Tommy Junior and Brian, and all 6 sisters; Anne, Denise, Maureen, Linda, Bernadette and Coleen. Recorded in a single day at London's Regent Sound Studios on Denmark Street, the album included selections from the group's popular club act. Highlights include covers of the recent hits 'I'd Like to Teach the World to Sing', 'Mother of Mine' and that year's Eurovision entry 'Beg, Steal or Borrow'. Also included is an expansive medley from 'The Sound of Music' and a powerful and dramatic pairing of 'Danny Boy' and 'My Ain Folk'. The album was primarily sold at the group's concerts and has since become highly rare and sought after among collectors. 'The Singing Nolans' CD release is complemented by the inclusion of a handful of bonus tracks by the group. 'Blackpool' (b/w 'Apple Pie') was the group's first single, an uplifting anthem co-written by Tommy Snr. Celebrating Blackpool football club. Also included is an EP of 4 festive songs the family released for Christmas 1972. All tracks on 'The Singing Nolans' release are making their debut on CD and have been digitally remastered from the original Nevis master tapes. These historic recordings represent the first time The Nolans were heard on disc and give a fascinating insight into the group's early beginnings prior to their future chart success.
